MEXICO - CHIAPAS

Today was a tiring day but I could discover incredible places!

Well, we don't know really Mexico or we only think about the capital...

But today, I discovered Palenque and the Sumidero Canyon. I had never seen a landscape like this.

I arrived at 8 am at the airport of Palenque. I slept on the plane this night so it was a bit difficult for me...

I took the taxi during 20 minutes only and arrived to the site of Palenque which is a Maya site. 

Palenque is one of the richest sites in southern Mexico. I visited the Palace of Palenque, the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Deciduous Cross and the Temple of the Sun.

At noon, I ate at the restaurant Araguatos. I took again the taxi, it was only 15 minutes to go. I discovered a speciality called the "Carne Asada" : beef marinated with lemon and pepper.

Then, I had 6 hours in bus (yes I know it's very long but I saw the landscape) to go to the Sumidero Canyon.

A person with whom I was on the bus told me that the Sumidero Canyon "was formed by cracks in the earth's crust along with erosion by the Grijalva River, which still flows through it."

I will soon go to a hotel not far and tomorrow morning I will leave from the airport Angel Albino Corzo at 9.18 am and arrive to the capital at 11.05 am.
