Mexico City

Today I visited Mexico city !

I arrived at 11.05 am, it's Omar a student in Mexico who met me at the airport.

First we went to his flat to leave my luggage.

And after that we went to a restaurant to eat a Chili con carne ! That was a very good meal ! And that was exactly what I needed after the long flight of this morning ! (I posted a picture of my lunch on twitter)

When we finished to eat we visited the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is situed on Plaza de la constitucion.

The cathedral is very impressive ! There is lot of details in the architecture.

And it's also very beautiful inside, with a lot of gold. We can feel that it's an important monument for Mexican people.

It was build in 1573 to evangelize the population of Mexico.

To finish our afternon Omar drove me to the Templo Mayor just behind the Cathedral.

The place was the center of the Aztec city, destroyed by the conquistador.

So we visited the vestige of the temple and there is a very interesting museum that explains the history of this place.

There is a short video that shows you what I saw in the museum :)

After that we went back to Omar's flat and ate a very good tacos !

So see you tomorow for Acapulco !
